How Windmill Clock works
Two minutes to read — then it runs itself.
For staff — clocking in & out10 seconds
1
Tap your name
Your tile is green with "● On shift" if you're already clocked in.
2
Enter your 4-digit PIN
The manager gives you this. Wrong PIN three times = a 30-second wait.
3
Press the one big button
It already knows: green Clock me IN when you arrive, red Clock me OUT when you leave. You can't press the wrong one — there's only one.
Forgot to clock in or out? Just tell the manager — they can fix the time, and the fix is recorded. You can't edit times yourself; that keeps the record honest for everyone.
For the manager — first time onlyonce, ever
Create your account
The very first visit shows one screen: your name, email, password. After that it never appears again.
Add your team under Staff
Type a name, press Add. Each person gets a random PIN — shown once, so tell them straight away. They appear on the clock instantly.
That's it
Leave the clock open full-screen on the pharmacy computer. Staff do the rest.
For the manager — every weekpayday routine
Hours — see the week at a glance
Totals per person, who's on shift now, and red ⚠ flags for anything that needs fixing (like a forgotten clock-out).
Log — fix genuine mistakes
Edit a time or add a missed shift. A reason is required, the original time is kept forever, and the row wears an ✎ badge — hover it to see who changed what and why.
Lock week & export CSV — that's payroll
Locking freezes every entry — nobody (including you) can change them after. The CSV opens in Excel and goes to your payroll software. It won't let you lock while a ⚠ flag is open.
PIN forgotten? Staff → Reset PIN — a new one is shown once. Someone leaves? Deactivate them — they vanish from the clock but their hours are kept. Name spelt wrong? Staff → Edit.
Three promises this app makes
The clock only ever records the truth
No edits or deletions at the kiosk — it adds honest timestamps, nothing else.
Every correction leaves a trail
Who changed it, when, what it was before, and why — kept forever.
Paid hours can never silently change
Once a week is locked, it's locked for everyone — manager included.
